I chatted with Professor Adrian Saville from Gibs about the horror phrase, stagflation. Low growth, high inflation is the top concern of any economy and it seriously hurt the US during the 1970s. The question I posed is if there is a real threat to the global economy, as yet, maybe not. But he’s not saying we’re out of the woods. The risks are real with an elevated oil price.

I chatted with Reza Hendrickse from PPS Investment about the first quarter and their portfolios since the war started in late February. His key point was they’ve changed very little to their portfolios and that they still like the emerging market story. This was a key theme for many coming into the year and for him it remains an important investment theme.
